The pickups, or triggers (the brain of this unit) are manufactured exclusively for Charlie's Place in Los Angeles, CA.Included:Electronic ignition plate with dual pickupsRotorAllen key to adjust your timing right on the plate.This ignition replaces the antiquated points and condenser with new state-of-the-art technology that produces strong, consistent spark for easier starting, better acceleration, and a noticeably smoother ride. Designed for proper fit, and complimentary aesthetic - no "black box" or special modifications necessary for installation. Thoroughly tested for durability and longevity and withstands excessive heat and vibration. Each unit is hand-assembled and inspected.Pickups are adjustable for perfect timing. Uses the stock advancer and the included rotor is the exact weight of the stock rotor, so the timing will advance mechanically just as intended. Thorough installation instructions provided with purchase. This ignition pairs perfectly with a pair of 5 ohm single fire coils. Notes regarding Single Pickup vs Dual Pickup: Earlier XS650 models had dual pickups, whereas later XS650's had a single coil with a single point or pickup. With the two pickup ignition, you can set the timing independently for each cylinder and get them both dead on. This is important with cam chain engines because inevitably the timing will shift between cylinders slightly with the chain spinning the cam as a variable vs. a Harley where the timing cannot vary between cylinders off the cam because it is fixed off of the crank.
